IOCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Marketing Division, Northern Region has released Advertisement No. IOCL/MKTG/NR/APPR/2026-27/1 for engagement of Trade, Technician and Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
The recruitment is for apprentice engagement at various locations in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

🎓 IOCL ITI Apprentice Eligibility 2026
For the five ITI Trade Apprentice disciplines, candidates must have:
Educational Qualification
Matriculation (10th) + regular full-time 2-year ITI course in the relevant trade recognised by NCVT/SCVT.
The notification specifies pass marks in the relevant ITI qualification.

For the ITI Trade Apprentice posts, the notification specifies pass marks in the relevant ITI qualification.
Unlike the Technician and Graduate Apprentice disciplines, the notification does not prescribe a separate 50% minimum percentage for these five ITI trades.

💰 IOCL Apprentice Stipend 2026
The stipend will be paid according to the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprentices Rules, 1992 and applicable government guidelines.
In addition to the statutory stipend, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Marketing Division), Northern Region will pay:
₹2,500/- per month towards miscellaneous expenses
For Trade Apprentices registered under NAPS, the notification states that the stipend will be received in full from IOCL Marketing Division, Northern Region.
Important: The notification does not state one fixed total monthly stipend figure for ITI candidates because the statutory stipend is governed by the applicable Apprenticeship provisions. Therefore, it is better not to advertise a fixed salary for these ITI posts.

🏆 IOCL Apprentice Selection Process 2026
One of the important features of this recruitment is that:
There will be NO Written Test and NO Interview.
Candidates who register on NAPS/NATS and apply against the notification will be considered for selection.
IOCL will prepare a merit list based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification.
Selection Process
NAPS/NATS Registration → Online Application → Merit List → Document Verification → Pre-Engagement Medical Examination → Apprenticeship Engagement
In case two candidates have the same percentage, the candidate with the earlier date of birth (older candidate) will be considered first. If the date of birth is also the same, higher matriculation marks will be considered.
Preference is also given to candidates who are applying for apprenticeship training for the first time.
🩺 Medical Examination
Shortlisted candidates must complete the Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Test.
Candidates must meet IndianOil's prescribed physical fitness requirements before engagement.
IOCL states that up to ₹3,000/- may be reimbursed towards expenses incurred for tests/investigations during the pre-engagement medical examination, subject to production of the relevant receipt.

⚠️ Important Eligibility Conditions

1. Full-Time Qualification
The prescribed qualification must have been obtained through a regular full-time course.
Part-time, correspondence or distance-learning qualifications are not eligible for the notified disciplines.
2. Five-Year Qualification Rule
Candidates applying under NAPS who have completed five years as on 31 August 2026 after acquiring the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
3. Higher Qualification
Candidates possessing or pursuing higher professional qualifications such as B.E./equivalent, MBA/equivalent, MCA, CA, ICWA, LLB or equivalent are not eligible under the conditions specified in the notification.
4. Apprenticeship Training
A candidate may undergo a maximum of two apprenticeship trainings, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification, and the second training cannot be in the same trade.
5. One Discipline Code Only
Candidates can apply for ONLY ONE Discipline Code.
Applying for more than one discipline code will result in rejection of the applications.
❌ Is IOCL Apprentice Recruitment a Permanent Job?
No.
This is an apprenticeship training opportunity for 12 months.
After completion of the apprenticeship, IOCL has no obligation to provide regular employment, and an apprentice cannot claim a right to employment merely because the apprenticeship has been completed.
However, ex-apprentices can compete for future regular recruitment opportunities in IOCL according to the applicable recruitment criteria and selection process.
