Selection is not based only on 10th/ITI marks.
The official selection process is:
Step 1 – Application Screening
Applications are screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee. Candidates are shortlisted according to the criteria adopted by the committee.
Step 2 – Trade Test
Shortlisted candidates are called for a Trade Test.
The Trade Test is qualifying in nature.
Step 3 – Competitive Written Examination
Candidates qualifying in the Trade Test appear for the competitive written examination consisting of:
- Paper-I
- Paper-II
- Paper-III
The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III.
