CLW(caps) Chittaranjan Locomotive Works- Chittaranjan, has been named after the great freedom fighter, leader and statesmen 'Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das'. It is one of the largest Electric Locomotives to manufacturer in the world. CLW also manufactures AC Traction motors, switch gears/Control gears, Bogies cast & fabricated, Wheel sets & Steel casting.
Chittaranjan Locomotive Works are invited for Act Apprentice under Apprentice Act' 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules' 1962, from candidates fulfilling the condition mentioned in this notification under (A) for the year 2021-2022, as under.
Qualification
Matriculate or 10th class in 10+2 examination system from recognized Board.
The Applicants should have already passed the prescribed Qualification as National Trade Certificate/ITI Certificate affiliated to NCVT is compulsory in relevant trade as under-
- Fitter- 200 posts
- Machinist- 56 posts
- Electrician- 112 posts
- Turner- 20 posts
- Draughtsman Civil- 28 posts
- Mechanic Diesel- 36 posts
- Mason (Building Constructor)- 09 posts
- Pump Operator cum Mechanic- 16 posts
- Surveyor- 20 posts
- Welder (Gas & Electric)- 76 posts
- Wireman- 40 posts
For Point 1(A), 3% of 492 Seats i.e. 15 seats and are reserved for PWD Candidates (OH, VH and HH)

- Who have undertaken any previous Apprenticeship Training as a part of the Apprentice program,
- Who are undergoing presently Apprenticeship Training at any organization,
- Who are undergoing any Regular Course of study as regular candidate from any educational Institute.
Candidate Age
The applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 15/09/2021.
Age Relaxation-
- 03 years in case of OBC
- 05 years in case of SC, ST candidates.
- Age relaxation for PWD candidates is 10 years.

Application Fees (Non-refundable)- NO FEES.
Selection Process
- The applicants should be registered in apprenticeshipindia.org and all documents should be uploaded in the portal. The same will be verified at the time of engagement.
- ENGAGEMENT OF ACT APPRENTICE WILL BE FROM THE FOLLOWING SOURCES: Should be registered in the portal www.apprenticeshipindia.org. The candidates, who register themselves up to 3rd Oct, 2021, 24.00 hrs. will be treated as eligible.
- Selection of the eligible applicants for imparting training under the apprentice act, 1961 will be base on The merit list of on the basis of Class- 10th Marks provided in the Apprentice portal.
- Final merit list will be prepared Trade-wise, Establishment wise and Community-wise.
- Only Online application engaged, No Offline application valid.
Training Duration
The period of training will be as per the extant rules and directives of Railway Board from time to time.
Stipend / Salary
The Apprentice will be paid monthly consolidated stipend amount as per the gazette notification of Govt. of India under the Apprenticeship Act 1992.

Applicants are required to fill up the personal details along with documents very carefully. In case of any discrepancy observed at the time of Document Verification, the Applicant will be disqualified summarily.
Important Dates
- Opening date of Online Web application- 15/09/2021
- Closing date for Online Submitting Application- 03/10/2021
(Application beyond this date and time will not be considered under any circumstances)
Important Note
- Application can be submitted only once for one Applicant. Hence form will be filled correctly as no corrections will be possible subsequently. So you should ensure once again that the information is correct before submitting.
- The apprentices will have no claim whatsoever for employment in CHITTARANJAN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS- CHITTARANJAN (CLW) or any other units of CHITTARANJAN LOCOMOTIVE WORKS- CHITTARANJAN (CLW) after completion of the training period.
- No daily allowance / conveyance allowance or travelling allowance will be paid to the Applicants called for Document Verification.
- Candidature of the Applicants shall be cancelled if he/she fails to produce the required original testimonials for verification or any other discrepancy noticed.
